Aside from Monster Hunter, I also wanna share this game that I played recently. And I wanna thank my friend Jehzeel Laurente for letting me borrow the part 2 of this game even though he haven't finish it yet. hehehe
Story When an immense mining ship, the USG Ishimura, comes into contact with a mysterious alien artifact in a remote star system, its communications with Earth are mysteriously cut off. Engineer Isaac Clarke is sent to repair the Ishimura's communications array, but he arrives to find a living nightmare. The ship is a floating bloodbath, the crew unspeakably mutilated and infected by an ancient alien scourge. Clarke's repair mission becomes one of survival as he fights not just to save himself, but to return the artifact to the planet at any cost.
This is a horror and suspense game by EA set in space. Dead Space emphasizes the removal of limbs through "strategic dismemberment" in order to defeat an enemy. Aiming for enemy's head won't exactly finish it this time because it may continue to slash violently toward your direction. Dead Space wants you to completely strip your enemies down to the torso or shooting their legs to break it and make them slower.
Isaac Clarke used his engineering suit in the entire game and you have an option to upgrade it to make it an elite engineering suit. It will improve your damage resistance and increase your life. There are limited number of ammo and most of the time your surroundings are dark that will make you rely in your flashlight.
After waking from a coma on a massive space city known as "The Sprawl," the lone survivor
Isaac Clarke of a horrific alien infestation finds himself confronting the catastrophic new nightmare. Battling dementia, hunted by the government, and haunted by visions of his dead girlfriend, Isaac will do whatever it takes to save himself and dominate the gruesome onslaught. With an arsenal of tools to dismember Necromorphs and new determination, an engineer will bring the terror to space.
This time, Isaac will use 4 types of armor. Early in the game, you will get the Engineering suit first, next is the Security suit which is being use by policeman, and then the Vintage suit which looks too heavy ,and last is Advances Suit as shown in the picture. You will get it very late in the game and I believe its chapter 13.
The suit costs 40,000 credits at the store and it will gives you 20% damage resistance and has special feature that halves Stasis recharge time. This suit relies on highly classified technology and is intended for elite forces in dangerous situation in the harshest environments.
For those who have PS3 and a Fan of Monster Hunter, this announcement from SONY is a good news. I just got this news recently and when I watch the video, its really a good remake of the game and they called it "Playstation Portable Remaster Series". The games will also come ready with control pad support, online functionality, and the ability to transfer game save data between PSP and PS3.
I'm wondering if the PSP needs to be updated to PSN new customer Firmware to be able to transfer the save data of this game to PS3. If that is the case, It looks like I have no choice but to follow the requirements because one of the good thing about this remaster is you will be using the Dual Shock 3 with 2 analog sticks, players can easily change the camera angle with the right stick.
It seems that Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is the first title to receive the HD treatment and is set to release on August 25, 2011.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is the expansion of MH Freedom 2 and the english version of MH portable 2nd G. If you check the opening of MH freedom unite, it gives you an idea about the gameplay and it also shows the mechanics of the game. For those who haven't tried to play monster hunter, try to watch the MH freedom unite video first and you'll see that its not a normal hack and slash monster killing game. I started to play monster hunter when the MH portable 2nd G released. I saw my officemates playing MH during break time and they asked me to join their hunting session. Its actually a real time game and more on team work and strategy, the game gives you lots of option to beat the monsters.
The game has more missions, equipment, and monsters than MH Freedom 2 including the main monster of the game, Narga Cuga(Wyvern with glowing red eyes). A new feature is a Felyne fighter (its like a Cat) to help you on your quests. You can also get Rarity 9 and 10 armors and weapons. In addition, the player can now hold up to 99 of each item type in his/her item box, store up to 20 equipment sets, and get ten equipment pages instead of six. A new type of quest, the "Epic Hunting Quest", will be introduced, which will enable the hunter to take on, one by one, up to more than 4 different monsters in one quest. Weapons can now have up to purple sharpness which is higher than white sharpness. You can now accept HR 7-9 quests (G-Rank) in the gathering hall and new elder quests outside the gathering hall from a Felyne beside the village elder. The downloadable content can give you special armor for your felyne along with early unlocks for some of the felyne skills.
Adhoc Party
On November 6, 2008, the beta version of a new online service allowing voice chat through the PlayStation Network (and a LAN connected Wi-Fi capable PlayStation 3) was released on the Japanese PlayStation Store. Adhoc Party for PlayStation Portable beta version is compatible with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
We always play MH together using WLAN or Wi-Fi but I didn't try the Adhoc party for PS3 because it requires you to update your PSP Custom Firmware(CFW) to the latest version that will make your PSP incapable of playing downloaded ISO games.
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G has enjoyed much commercial success in Japan. The Japanese version of the game sold 690,000 copies on its release day, and in its first week sold 1.5 million copies.As of July 8, 2009, the game has sold 3.5 million copies in the region.Monster Hunter Freedom Unite has achieved great critical response with an average metric score of 80% with IGN and Eurogamer giving the game a 8/10. One of very few negative feedback was from GameSpot who gave the game a 6.5, stating it still contains camera issues, no lock on feature and the lack of an online mode.
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd opening shows that new feature of the game that include revised Felyne combat system, new regions and monsters and the new Flagship monster of the game, Jinouga(an enormous, Wolverine-like Creature that use Lightning attack).
What I really like with this game is, you can take two Felynes out with you on a single player quests, up from single companion of MH Freedom Unite. When you take Felynes out on quest, monster's attention are divided between the player and the companions, making hunts easier. If you want to play online and its only two of you, game will allow you to take one Felyne each but if there are three hunters in online gathering hall, you cannot bring any Felyne. Also new to MH portable 3rd is the ability to customize the felyne's weapon and armor to improve their attack and defense and it also change the creature's physical appearance and properties. Felyne weapons can either be Slash or Impact damage, The creation of Felyne equipment will use monster "scraps". These are obtained when you create armor, the scraps left over are used to create felynes equipment so they progress as you do. Felyne now have more emotions and features, when outraged will become mad and powerful with an ! over their head. Same feature when in panic or taunting, a symbol will appear. They also now have 3 methods of attack (melee, boomerang, and bomb) and for targeting trends, they can mainly attack large or small foes, or even a balance of both.
Weapons
All weapon classes from previous games (Great Sword, Long Sword, Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Lance, Gunlance, Switch Axe, Light Bowgun, Heavy Bowgun and Bow) are present in the game.They also added Switch Axe that transform from ax to sword and they made the bowgun into two types, Light bowgun and Heavy bowgun.
Sales
Within two weeks of release by December 20, 2010, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd sold 2.58 million units in Japan. According to the game's publisher, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is “now the fastest selling PSP title ever in Japan” and “the fastest selling game in Capcom's history. By March 2011, the game's sales in Japan had reached 4.6 million units.
Lets start with NGP. SONY learned a valuable lesson with their last gaming console release, the PS3 that the price of the hardware during launch can spell success or failure of the product. They’ve hinted earlier that the Sony NGP or PSP2 won’t be priced as high as the failed PSPGo. Its a good news, I'm expecting that the starting price will be more or less $270 and SONY claims that PS3 games will run on NGP without graphical changes, cool right!
There are rumours of cloud saving being introduced with NGP which means that gamers can switch from either platform on wifi and will have the option of saving the games also. In short, if the home console is on standby with a game then you can access the same game though the NGP via wifi.
I'm also thinking of connecting the NGP to HDTV to take advantage of the new specs. I actually don't know how is it look like if you run it to a 1080p full HD. If NGP can display full screen, that would be great. You can just download movies, pictures and music video and play to your HDTV to save energy. Hehehe, and that's the purpose.
There has been much attention and fanfare surrounding the release of the new SONY Ericson xperia PLAY which can perhaps be considered as a warm-up SONY's NGP. Clearly xperia PLAY has been touted to casual game player which is perhaps why no comparison can be drawn with the NGP.Therefore, it is more likely that this phone will compete with the imperious iPhone and to some extent the emerging Android powerhouses even though it will be powered by Android's Gingerbread OS.
The Xperia Play purpose has high class performance designed with large display area as well as being astoundingly ideal web browsing activities. The actual specifications make it easy for the Android to generally be powerful device for sending mails and accomplishing social networking activities.
The appearance of Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is having ordinary looks but in the camera its altogether different. There is 1GHz Snapdragon processor in addition to the graphics designing is for Adreno 205 GPU. Also there is 512 MB RAM and 8GB memory card which are often expanded to 32 Gigabyte. There are numerous connectivity options, which please any imagination, which is often considered by way of the user.
I just saw from one of the website that xperia PLAY's price is $630(USD). It sounds too much for portable gaming but it seems quite reasonable when you compare it to other smartphones pricing.
I played lots of games to my PSP2000 and later on I found myself always playing Monster Hunter. Most of us Monster Hunter player are spending hundreds of hours in the game trying to familiarize ourselves with boss monsters moves and technique. We can also add friends, simple Ad-hoc/Bluetooth signals can send a digital copy of a friends ID as a request. Once you added them to your friends list, you can view their achievements and status.
While many are still skeptical about the idea of the NGP and Xperia Play existing alongside one another and possibly competing against each other, the original PSP is at a far greater risk of becoming obsolete. The future of the original PSP will be focused on casual entertainment in a more affordable marketplace while the upcoming NGP will take the reins to a more hardcore, tech-centric audience until it can drop in price and gain a larger library.
Selling your original PSP is not really neccessary, as long as the three system can do multi-player using ad-hoc. Its like when PS3 came out, people sold their PS2 and complained about the backward compatibility in PS3, others want to keep their old system and expect that original games will become cheap once the new system comes out just to catch up for the games they haven't played.
